Gerry A. Dunlap – President and Chief Executive Officer
A Family Affair.
Gerry has banking in his blood. Literally. In 1921, the Dunlap family purchased a bank in Douglas, Nebraska. It was the first of many that would be owned and operated by them.
Family-owned to this day, Farmers & Merchants Bank has benefited greatly from having Gerry at the helm. He understands what it takes for small, rural communities to grow and thrive. In the 42 years he’s been with the bank, he has been instrumental in the adoption and offering of the latest products and technology, while maintaining the friendly touch that is characteristic of small towns. It’s important to him to make people feel welcomed and heard, and know they are getting the best products to help them succeed, no matter their personal or business goals.
And if you think Gerry doesn’t have time to give back to his community through volunteering efforts and board memberships, think again. He’s on the new Milford City Hall Committee, is a Junior Achievement volunteer and a past member of Nebraska Wesleyan’s Board of Governors, his alma mater. He was also a member of the Milford School Foundation.
From Suits to Hiking Boots.
In his off time, Gerry swaps his suits for hiking, biking and back-packing gear, as he’s an avid outdoorsman. In July, you can find Gerry biking across Iowa in the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, a week-long ride that takes him from one end of the state to the other. Good luck keeping up.
