Heart of a Hero: Michelle Mach of Milford

This month’s Heart of a Hero nominee, Michelle Mach, loves serving her community to make Milford a great place to call home.

She’s lived in Milford all of her adult life and she’s always been involved with the community. She’s been a part of the Milford United Methodist Church since 1984 and has been active in church leadership and community service for the last 10 years. Michelle’s extremely proud and humbled to be a part of this important mission.

“We have a very giving and caring community. Many people and churches work together to provide for the needs of our community, especially children,” said Michelle.

Justina Roth nominated Michelle and knows just how much she goes above and beyond for others. Justina says, “Michelle gives tremendous amounts of time and effort to the Milford United Methodist Church. From their youth group to the food pantry, she is always giving. She is a silent worker for the church and community.”

Michelle saw the need for this work in Milford a long time ago and it’s what drew her to serve others. “Six months ago, we were serving 1 to 2 families a month with food boxes at the Milford Community Food Pantry, now we serve at least 20 families per month,” Michelle said.

She even passes along this passion to kids and teens in the community and shows them just how important it is to serve others. “Leading youth groups to do mission and service work is very important to me.”

Michelle’s always felt like she was meant to do this kind of work. “I’ve been very blessed to be able to work through Milford United Methodist Church to be able to provide for the needs of our community.”
