“Heart of a Hero” Nomination: Diane L. Wade of Weeping Water

Don Hughes nominated Diane Wade, lifetime resident of Weeping Water, for her good-hearted acts of kindness. “Heart of a Hero” recognizes people in your community who are doing good, just because. This is what Don had to say about Diane:

“Diane is the owner of Wade Insurance Agency here in Weeping Water and has been active in almost every function the city has been involved in. She has been a crucial part of the Chamber of Commerce and has volunteered for many years on all of the various committees. She has not only invested her time, but her money as well, renovating an empty building on Main Street for her insurance agency, and along with Modern Woodmen of America, has contributed thousands of dollars to many charities and local events. She is a great ambassador for the city of Weeping Water and Cass County. She is a great example of commitment and energy for small towns like Weeping Water.”

Diane’s grandparents on both sides lived in Weeping Water, making her a third-generation resident. Her love of the town is apparent. “I have a very soft spot in my heart for this community. I want this town to survive. I want it to be a happy place, and that stems from a happy Main Street. It’s not just one person to be congratulated,” she said, “but an effect of the whole community coming together.”
